Nikon unveils a new high-end compact: the Nikon Coolpix P7100

Nikon unveiled Wednesday the successor of the Coolpix P7000, the Nikon Coolpix P7100.

The P7100 is a very limited evolution of Nikon's high-end compact camera as it features the same 10.1 megapixel CCD sensor and the same lens, equivalent to a 28-200 mm with a bright F2.8-5.6 aperture range. The main changes are aesthetic and operational speed with, for example a tilting 3-inch LCD display and a claimed improved auto-focus (AF) and RAW write speed.
