Sony α E-mount 30mm F3.5 Macro, the fourth lens for NEX camerasWednesday July 20 2011
Sony adds a new lens for their proprietary NEX interchangeable lens format, a macro lens capable of 1:1 (life-size magnification ratio) that is being marketed by Sony as "currently the world’s lightest life-size macro lens (138g) for interchangeable-lens cameras".
Branded as a high-quality lens capable of a working distance of 2.4 cm thanks to its internal focusing system, the SEL30M35 (as it is also called) employs one ED (extra-low dispersion) glass and three aspherical lens elements.
With this announcement Sony expands the α E-mount family to include a macro lens.
So far the lenses available on this format are:
- The Sony 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Zoom Lens
- The Sony 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Zoom Lens and
- The Sony 16mm f/2.8 Wide-Angle Lens
