A wider view: Independent Super Wide-Angle lenses compared

This is not an exhaustive test, it reviews data only for independent lenses and the camera manufactures own offerings obviously need to be considered too. However, on the strength of the data available it seems that the best lens is Carl Zeiss’s Distagon T* 2.8/15. For a photographer who plans to use a super wide-angle extensively in their work this is the one to go for. Images straight from camera are going to be superior to those from other lenses. The majority of photographers will not be using a 14 or 15mm lens so much and so would probably be better off saving some money and buying a Samyang 14mm f2.8 IF ED UMC Aspherical. With the money they save they should also buy a copy of DxO Optics Pro 8 and a return ticket to somewhere to play with their new toy!

Zeiss 25mm F2
On 5th February Emilie wrote that the tests on the Zeiss 25mm F2 would be available 'in around a month'.

XO Module for Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC
I too would appreciate a DxO Optics Pro module for the Samyang 14mm for use with my D800. I might have to get a copy of Lightroom if DxO doesn't deliver soon...

Im also waiting for a DXO module for Nikon D300s, D700 and D800. Any idea when it will be available ?

Any idea when this lens will be tested?

DXO Module for Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC
Given your tests for this lens, why not a DXO module?? The lens is excellent especially in light of its price, and distortion corrections in a module would make it much, much better. I have had one for Nikon with a focus chip for well over a year waiting for a DXO module.
