We will compare the EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM with its Nikon equivalent: the Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED

  • Both lenses manage to keep the distortion low
  • The Nikon lens is a little sharper and has a more homogenous resolution than the Canon
  • But the 10-22mm has a small advantage in term of Chromatic Aberration, especially in the corners at 10mm
  • The Nikon controls its vignetting better at F/3.5

If we look at their landscape Use Case scores, for which they are made, the EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM wins with an excellent 4.5 stars where the Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED only gets 3.5 stars.

In conclusion, the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM is a good lens for landscape, thanks to its low chromatic aberrations and its minimum distortion.
